Easy peace of mind day and night

Moomin Baby diapers are designed for active children who are already learning to walk. They are easy to put on and take off by opening the side seam. The diapers are suitable for both day and night use and provide a great safety cloak while your child is learning to dry off.

Skin-friendly and fragrance-free

Moomin Baby diapers have been developed in collaboration with the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Association, making them particularly suitable for children with sensitive skin. No chemicals, fragrances, creams or other unnecessary substances have been added to the diapers.

We use certified wood pulp, which is bleached by the oxygen method without chlorine. The diapers are dermatologically tested, researched and proofed to be safe for the skin of a small sensitive baby without glyphosates, latex, formaldehyde or phthalates – that’s why they are the best domestic diapers for your special baby.

Pants Diapers

Skin-friendliness is one of the most important values for us, along with environmental responsibility. We do our best to ensure that our diapers are suitable for even the most sensitive baby skin.

Skin-friendliness is influenced by many different factors, such as the materials used in the production and the fit of the diaper. The raw materials used in our diapers are carefully selected, using only soft and safe materials. Wherever possible, we favour Nordic raw material manufacturers. We do not add any unnecessary chemicals such as oils or fragrances to our diapers. The main raw material used in our diapers is domestic cellulose, which is completely chlorine-free, and therefore also dioxin-free. The cellulose we use is not bleached with chemicals but with 100% pure oxygen. This is a safer and more skin-friendly solution for the child’s skin as well as for our environment.

Moomin Baby diapers also contain no allergenic substances such as latex, glyphosate, formaldehyde or phthalates. When it comes to skin-friendliness, the fit of the diaper is also important. When the diaper fits the baby well, the child will not develop skin irritating abrasions or harmful imprints. The fabrics and plastics used in Moomin Baby diapers are highly breathable, so that the baby’s skin can breathe even when the diaper is being used. The carefully selected materials also absorb the liquids in, keeping the baby’s skin dry so that the diaper does not irritate the skin.

We are also constantly working towards making diapers that are more skin-friendly. Moomin Baby diapers are made in collaboration with the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Association and we will continue our long-standing collaboration in the future. Our diapers are also dermatologically tested.

Moomin Baby diapers are completely chlorine-free, which makes them suitable for energy waste and incineration, as they do not emit harmful emissions into the atmosphere. It is not recommended to dispose of chlorinated diapers by incineration, as incineration can produce toxic gases. However, not all incinerators accept any diapers, as some of our competitors still use chlorine-bleached diapers. We therefore recommend that you ask the incinerator in your area about their policy and whether they accept non-chlorinated diapers for incineration.

You can also dispose of Moomin Baby diapers in the normal way with mixed waste. Whichever way you dispose of Moomin Baby diapers, we can say that our diapers are an environmentally responsible choice among other disposable diapers. We have designed the life cycle of our diapers to have the least possible impact on the environment. The main raw material for Moomin Baby diapers is degradable cellulose, made from domestic FSC-certified forests. We also try to always choose Nordic raw material manufacturers and do not add any unnecessary chemicals such as fragrances or oils to our diapers.

Finished diapers are packed in a packaging bag made from 60% recycled plastic, which you can sort for plastic recycling. Moomin Baby diapers are also made in Finland, so trips from factory to store shelf are short. We want to leave a clean and beautiful nature for future generations.

The main absorbent used in our diapers is pure, 100% FSC® certified cellulose from Finnish forests. The cellulose we use is bleached with oxygen and is therefore 100% chlorine-free. The absorbent core is wrapped in a non-woven fabric with liquid-permeable and repellent properties. A small amount of superabsorbent is mixed with the cellulose in the absorbent layer. The superabsorbent (SAP) we use is a completely safe, hypoallergenic substance that has been used in children’s diapers for over 20 years and has been proven safe. We are constantly striving to make our diapers more eco-friendly and therefore use significantly less superabsorbent than many leading brands. Despite this, our diapers work efficiently, their design evenly distributes moisture throughout the diaper and keeps skin dry.

The top and outer layers of our diapers, which are in direct contact with baby’s skin, are made of soft and skin-friendly materials. The inside is made of polypropylene fibre fabric and the outside of the diaper is made of breathable polyethylene plastic and a non-woven fabric blend of polypropylene and polyethylene.

Diaper fasteners such as tapes are made of polypropylene and polyethylene and leakage guards are made of polypropylene plastic. All the adhesives used in the sheaths are FDA-approved hot melt adhesives, the same as those used in the food industry, for example in chocolate wrappers.

Moomin Baby diapers are an all-round carefree and safe choice for your child, as all the raw materials used meet the strict criteria for chemicals set by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation. Moomin Baby diapers never contain fragrances, dyes or creams that can irritate baby’s delicate skin.

When it comes to skin-friendliness, the right size and a good fit is important. When the diaper is the right size, your baby will not develop skin irritating chafing, harmful impressions or leakages. The fit and correct size of a diaper can sometimes be difficult to judge, which is why Moomin Baby invests in the fit of the diaper, making your child’s daily life easier. Pay attention to the following points when choosing the right nappy size, because if any of the following is true, the diaper size you are using is the wrong one for your baby:

  • The diaper gets drenched or your baby has leakage accidents.
  • The diaper does not completely cover the baby’s buttocks.
  • The diaper looks or feels too tight.
  • The tightness is right if you can slip a few fingers between the diaper and the baby’s stomach.
  • The diaper leaves a red scuff mark on the waist or inner thighs.

Moomin Baby diaper sizes are graded according to baby’s weight. You will find clear size markings on both the diaper package and the diaper itself. The Moomin Baby diaper chart helps you to judge which size diaper is best for your baby.

Moomin Baby diapers are manufactured by the family business Delipap Oy in Tammisaari, Finland’s only diaper factory with over 45 years of expertise.

For us, skin-friendliness is one of the most important features of a diaper. That’s why we only want to make clean and soft diapers for even the most sensitive baby skin. Moomin Baby diapers do not contain any unnecessary added chemicals. We do not add any fragrances, creams or dyes to the finished diapers. Moomin Baby diapers are only made from carefully selected clean and safe materials. Moomin Baby diapers are certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation, which means that the manufacturing process and the materials used meet the strict criteria of these certifications. We feel that this is only a minimum requirement and we are constantly striving to improve our products to make them even safer. It is very important for us to keep the diaper as clean and additive-free as possible in the future.

The main absorbent used in Moomin Baby diapers is pure Finnish cellulose, from sustainably managed forests. To ensure that the diaper has sufficient absorbency and stays dry, a small amount of a moisture-absorbing powder called superabsorbent (SAP) is mixed with the cellulose. The superabsorbent we use is completely safe and hypoallergenic, and is also used in the food industry. It has been used for decades in diapers, menstrual pads, urinary incontinence pads, etc.

The bright balls in a child’s diaper are precisely this moisture-retaining absorbent powder, which turns into a gel-like substance, visible to the eye, when the liquid is absorbed. It binds not only liquid but also odour, helping to keep the diaper surface dry. It also prevents the spread of bacteria, rashes and other skin problems. Gel balls in the diaper or on the skin are not harmful to the baby. The absorbent powder binds moisture to the absorbent layer of the diaper, and normally gel balls do not rise to the surface of the diaper. However, this sometimes occurs when the diaper is very wet. We recommend changing the diaper more frequently.
